Vinnie McVay is an independent artist from Philadelphia whose passion for music began at an early age. A natural singer, she started experimenting with rap and songwriting at just seven years old. By the age of twelve, she was already writing complete songs, laying the foundation for the artist she would become.

At a young age, Vinnie McVay was surrounded by music daily. Her grandmother was a reggae gospel singer and songwriter, and Vinnie often sang her grandmother’s original songs in church alongside her. 

At fourteen she moved in with her uncle Danny Dread a dancehall artist, where she spent countless hours recording and developing her sound. Being immersed in that creative environment helped shape her work ethic and understanding of the recording process at an early age. Those early influences laid the foundation for her dedication to music and the artist she continues to become today. 

At fifteen, her uncle Reza began taking her to professional recording studios, marking the next step in her journey and further strengthening her dedication to her craft.

Vinnie McVay writes all of her music and creates her own melodies, developing a sound that reflects her unique artistic vision. Her style ranges across multiple genres, blending elements of Trap, Reggae, R&B, House, Techno, and Rock, creating music that refuses to be placed into one box.

As an independent artist, Vinnie McVay continues to build her career on her own terms. From designing her own merchandise and website to shaping the vision behind her projects, she remains focused on creating a world that represents authenticity, resilience, and creative freedom.

She is currently working toward building her own record label, expanding her vision beyond music and creating opportunities for the future.
